Feel matcha-licious throughout the day!

Once a beloved detox drink found on the streets of Japan, matcha made its way into the beauty world with the rise of beauty influencers and skincare enthusiasts. From a niche wellness trend to a household staple in under a decade, matcha has earned a spot in our skincare drawers and for good reason. Brimming with antioxidants and skin-loving nutrients, it helps combat oxidative stress, balances facial oils, and promotes a healthy, radiant complexion.

Rich in vitamins A, C, E, K, and B, this green powerhouse is more than just a trendy ingredient. Let’s explore five ways you can incorporate matcha into your skincare routine and unlock its full potential as a natural, effective skin ally.

2/6

For moisturisation

To have intense moisturisation on your skin, take two teaspoons of matcha green tea in a bowl and add ½ cup of milk to form a paste. Now, add half a teaspoon of honey to this mixture and create a smooth consistency. Apply this on your face, chest, and neck area, and let it sit for 15 minutes on your skin. Rinse it with plain water and prevent issues of dryness, soothe irritation, and keep yourself away from sunburnt skin.

To remove excess oil

Take one tablespoon of matcha powder and add 2 tablespoons of multani mitti, aka fuller’s earth, in a bowl. Add a few drops of tea tree oil and create a smooth paste. Now, apply the mask on your face and neck, and allow it to dry. After some time, rinse it with lukewarm water, which would remove excess oil from the skin and minimise pores, giving you a smooth matte texture in the most natural manner.

For tight and youthful skin

Simply take two teaspoons of matcha green tea and add one teaspoon of coconut or argan oil. Add a few drops of rose essential oil, and apply this paste to your face and neck. This application would boost collagen production and help revive dull and tired skin with a smooth texture. Working as an all-natural anti-ageing agent, one needs to keep it on for 15 minutes and then gently wipe off the mask with plain water.

For exfoliation

Blend two teaspoons of matcha green tea powder with one teaspoon of ground coffee beans in a bowl. Add some fresh yoghurt and form a paste. Now, apply this mixture on your face and neck, and leave it on for a few minutes until it dries partially. Rinse it off with plain water and pat your skin dry. It will remove dirt and dead skin cells from deep within and would add a touch of supple texture to your skin.

For skin toning

Take two teaspoons of matcha powder in a bowl and add some rosewater to get a paste-like consistency. Now, add a few drops of lavender essential oil and mix it well. Apply this runny mixture on your face and neck and rinse it off after 15 minutes, or as soon as the mask starts to get dry. Apply this thrice a week to get bright and clear skin and get ready to naturally glow and shine.
