Slow down the process with these home remedies

Facial hair in women can be very frustrating, especially when it keeps coming back in no time. While we opt for salon-friendly options like threading, facials, and waxing, which are not cost-effective and painful at the same time, it is time to turn to hair growth remedies, which can slow down the hair growth process and eventually stop it over time. Try these 5 natural ways to safely slow down the facial hair growth, using ingredients that are available in your kitchen.

2/6

Turmeric and milk

Turmeric slows down the hair growth process over time, keeping your skin clean. For post-moisturisation and nourishment, add some milk and apply it as a paste every day. You will need 2 teaspoons of turmeric powder, a little bit of milk, and some rose water. Blend both and create a thick paste. Now, apply it all over your face and allow it to dry. Start scrubbing gently, and do this at least three times a week, if not every day.

Egg white face mask

This might give you the ick, but when egg white becomes sticky and dry, it can help pull off facial hair like anything else and also tighten the skin. Add 1 tablespoon of sugar to 1 egg white and another teaspoon of cornflour, i.e., rice flour. Crack the egg and separate the white part. Mix the egg white with sugar and cornflour until it becomes a smooth paste. Apply this paste evenly on your face, avoiding the eyes and eyebrows. After 20 minutes, gently peel it in the upward direction and rinse your face with cold water afterward. As egg white has a strong odour, you can add a pinch of rose water or lemon juice to make it more bearable.

Sugar and lemon face mask

Sugar is known for its exfoliating benefits, whereas lemon weakens the hair roots and lightens the hair colour, acting like a natural bleach. You will need 2 tablespoons of sugar, 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, and a little water. Blend all ingredients and leave them for 20 minutes. Rinse off with cold water, and repeat this process at least three times a week. But if you have acne-prone or sensitive skin, then refrain from putting lemon in the paste.

5/6

Honey and lemon juice

Honey sticks perfectly on facial hair and gently removes it from the roots. On the other hand, lemon juice acts as a natural bleach and lightens facial hair over time. Together, they keep your skin soft and glowing. Take 1 tablespoon of honey and ½ teaspoon of fresh lemon juice. Mix it and apply this thin layer to the area with facial hair. Leave it on for 20 minutes. Meanwhile, soak a clean cloth in warm water and gently wipe off the mask. Rinse your face with lukewarm water, and repeat this thrice a week.

Oatmeal and banana face mask

Where oatmeal gently exfoliates your skin, the nutrients in banana soften it, giving you the vibrant glow you’ve been yearning for. Take 2 tablespoons of oatmeal and 1 ripe banana. Blend the two ingredients together and apply them for 10 minutes. Rinse off with lukewarm water and quickly moisturise your face or apply your usual serum. Refrain from using it thrice a week, as the oatmeal particles may wash off the natural sebum. Once a week is more than enough.
