10 home remedies to treat dark circles

Whether you are a man or a woman, dark circles are a nightmare to everyone and as much as you try and avoid them, with insufficient care and lack of protection, you are doomed to have them. Ranging from stress, lack of sleep, hormonal changes to a disturbed lifestyle, there can be many reasons for dark circles to appear under your eyes.

While many of you spend an awful lot of money on chemical-laden products and eye-repair creams, they may or may not prove right for the type of skin you possess. However, you can always resort to simple yet effective home remedies that can help you get rid of your dark circles, without any damage at all. Here’s a list of home remedies that can treat your dark circles.

2/11

Cucumber

Many of us have witnessed experts covering their eyes with cucumber slices as a part of their skin care routine, but we fail to understand why. Cucumbers are the best and most refreshing way to treat the swollen eye-bags and dark circle underneath our eyes. What we need to do is, slice some cucumbers and place them in the refrigerator for 30 minutes. We can then leave them on our dark circles for 10 minutes and wash the eyes with lukewarm water. Try this method twice a day to feel fresh and to get an instant result.

3/11

Tomatoes

Tomatoes contain lycopene, a solution that works wonders on your skin and helps to decrease the appearance of dark under-eye circles. To get the best results, you can mix equal parts tomato juice with lemon juice and then use a cotton ball to apply it to the under-eye area. After leaving for 10 minutes, you can wash it off with some warm water. An alternate way can be drinking tomato juice mixed with lemon juice and mint leaves on a regular basis.

4/11

Cold Tea Bags

One of the easiest ways to get rid of dark circles is by using cold tea bags. Many tea bags contain beneficial antioxidants that can help in soothing the under-eye area. Before using it, you must first soak it in the water and then store it in a cool place for a while. You can then place it on your eyes for a refreshing effect. Try this method regularly and witness a considerable change in your appearance.

5/11

Rose Water

Rose water is a multipurpose skin care solution that not only helps in rejuvenating skin but also helps to remove dark circles. To get the best results, you need to soak some cotton pads in rose water and place them on the dark circles. After leaving them there for 15 minutes, you can wash them off with cold water and repeat it every day for best results.

6/11

Almond Oil

Rich in vitamin E, almond oil can help you revive back your skin to get its natural glow. It is one of the easiest routines and you must first apply a little almond oil on your dark circles and then massage gently. Leave it on for the night and then wash it off the next morning.

7/11

Grated potatoes

Potatoes are a source of Vitamin C, which brings back the radiance in the skin and works wonders on the dark under-eye circles. To make the best use of it, you need to first grate some potatoes and extract some juice out it. Then after soaking cotton pads into the juice, you can place it on the dark circles for 10 minutes. Finally, just rinse it with warm water for best results.

8/11

Orange Juice

Orange juice, when combined with glycerin, can be a great eye-care supplement. While it contains Vitamin A and C, orange juice is not only great for curing dark circles, but it can also revive back your skin to its natural glow.

9/11

Mint Leaves

Similar to cucumbers, mint also has invigorating and refreshing qualities, which can give a relaxing feel to your eyes and rid you of the dark circles. Crush a few mint leaves with water and after forming a paste, apply it on the dark circles. Leave it for 10 minutes and wash off with cold water. Repeat it for a week and experience a refreshing change in the way you look.

10/11

Get 8 Hours of Sleep

Lack of sleep is one of the many reasons one develops heavy eye-bags and dark circles. Therefore, the easiest and the most natural way to get rid of the dark under-eye circles is by treating yourself a nice 8 hours sleep. A good night’s rest will not only take away all the discomfort in your body but also replenish your skin.

11/11

Yoga and/or Meditation

Stress can not only affect your mental health but also your skin. Dark circles are the initial signs of stress, which needs serious attention. Yoga and meditation can be a great source of positivity that can not only uplift your soul but also reduce the underlying damages it does to your skin. One of them is dark circles.

DermalMD Under eye circles Serum changed my life. It got rid of the dark circles under my eyes and also worked for the folds around my mouth and nose. I have gotten so many compliments on my skin. I had serious bags and sagging skin at only 25. I have been using this in conjunction with doing facial exercises and after a month and a half my face is tighter and brighter.
