US President Trump's daughter Tiffany Trump visits Taj Mahal with husband Michael Boulos
NEW DELHI: Tiffany Trump, the daughter of US President Donald Trump, visited the Taj Mahal in Agra on Saturday with her husband Michael Boulos, spending around an hour exploring India's most famous monument during their private trip to the country.
The couple arrived at the 17th-century marble mausoleum at around 11am and toured the complex while learning about its history and architecture. According to local officials and tourist guides, Tiffany showed a keen interest in the monument's construction and asked several questions during the visit. The pair were also seen taking photographs at various locations across the UNESCO World Heritage site, making the most of the landmark's iconic backdrop.
Their visit comes a day after they toured the Akshardham Temple in New Delhi. Sharing her experience on social media, Tiffany described the visit as "incredible". The temple management also welcomed the couple, saying it was an honour to host Tiffany, Boulos and their friends during "a beautiful day of exploring culture and heritage". US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor also extended a welcome to the couple during their visit.
Authorities put extensive security measures in place for the high-profile visit. Police said Tiffany arrived in Agra from Delhi aboard a chartered aircraft before travelling by road to the Taj Mahal. A high-security corridor was established between the airport and the monument, with additional police personnel deployed along the route and around the site.
Tiffany, the fourth child of President Trump and his former wife Marla Maples, married American-Lebanese businessman Michael Boulos in November 2022.
The Taj Mahal has long been a major attraction for international leaders and dignitaries. President Trump visited the monument with former First Lady Melania Trump during his 2020 trip to India, while French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte Macron toured the site in 2018. More recently, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and his wife Jeanette Rubio also visited the historic monument.
