A top Hizbul Mujaheedin militant was killed and two special police officers were injured in a gunfight in Jammu and Kashmir's Kishtwar district.
JAMMU: A top Hizbul Mujaheedin militant was killed and two special police officers were injured in a gunfight in Jammu and Kashmir's Kishtwar district on Wednesday. On a tip-off, army troops launched a search operation along with police in Summanwas area in Kishtwar in the ensuing shootout, Hizb's self-style district commander Moulvi Fayaz Ahmed was killed.
His body is yet to be recovered, officials said. Fayaz was active in the state for the past 15 years. Two SPOs -- Bashir Ahmed and Shmash Din -- were injured and later shifted to hospital.
