BHOPAL: “I did not take the CM chair from Shivraj Singh Chouhan, he gave it to me,” chief minister Mohan Yadav said at a media house conclave in New Delhi on Saturday.
“It is a specialty of the party (BJP). If you lobby, your number will never come. Our party sees and knows everything. When my name was announced as leader in the party MLAs’ meet, I did not trust my ears and kept sitting for two minutes,” Yadav, a three-time MLA from Ujjain, said.

When Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced my name, I did not pay attention once. I never thought my name could be announced. People around me said, ‘It is you, stand up’. I was surprised and did not have confidence in my ears and kept sitting for two minutes. I thought one of the senior leaders in front would stand up. What you never thought happens. The party can give a chance to any worker.”
Asked if he was named as CM because he is a Yadav and it would benefit the party in states like Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, CM Yadav didn’t agree. “The party does not see caste, lineage or tradition. I come from a farming family. It is only BJP that can give a chance to any party worker.”
