(LJP) is likely to field
Bihar minister Pashupati Kumar Paras as its candidate from
Hajipur
, which is now represented by his elder brother and party chief
Ram Vilas Paswan.
Though the party’s parliamentary board held its meeting on Monday, it did not announce the names of candidates in view of the demise of Goa CM Manohar Parrikar. “We have decided the names of all candidates for the six seats. The names will be announced in the next few days... Our president will not contest the LS poll and he will be brought to Rajya Sabha,” LJP’s parliamentary board chief

Speculation had been rife on Ram Vilas Paswan’s successor in Hajipur, which he has represented eight times. It’s learned that some in NDA were keen on Paswan contesting again, but he had turned it down.
