Rain lashes Delhi-NCR; brings respite from heat

"A dust storm followed by a thunderstorm with rain and gusty winds, with speeds ranging from 40 to 70 kmph, is expected to occur over and adjoining areas of entire Delhi and NCR within the next 2 hours," said the weather department as the rain started pouring. (Photo: BCCL)

The IMD issued an advisory warning that the strong winds could endanger plantations, horticulture, and standing crops, while also warning of potential partial to minor damage to vulnerable structures and kutcha houses.

"Residents are urged to stay indoors, secure windows and doors and refrain from unnecessary travel. Seeking safe shelter and avoiding tree cover are recommended to mitigate risks.
