Qatar's Amir visits India: Fostering strategic partnership, economic ties and more

Qatar’s Amir, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, arrived in India for a two-day state visit. Accompanied by a high-level delegation, including ministers and business leaders, the visit aimed at deepening bilateral ties and expanding cooperation in diverse sectors.

Upon arrival, the Amir of Qatar was given a ceremonial welcome and Guard of Honour at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Earlier, when Amir landed in Delhi, he was peronally received by PM Modi at Palam Technical Airport in a special gesture of friendship.

The Amir was warmly welcomed by President Droupadi Murmu and PM Narendra Modi, along with senior ministers from the Indian government. During the event, he interacted with key Indian ministers and officials, reinforcing diplomatic ties.

During the visit India and Qatar signed an agreement to elevate their bilateral relations to a strategic partnership. The pact focused on trade, energy, investments, technology, food security, and cultural ties, strengthening cooperation in multiple sectors for long-term collaboration.

PM Modi and the Amir of Qatar led high-level delegation talks at Hyderabad House. Indian ministers, including external affairs minister S Jaishankar and finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman, discussed key areas of cooperation with Qatari officials to enhance bilateral relations.
