PATIALA: A Panthak Morcha candidate from Sanaur contesting SGPC elections has been booked for allegedly attempting to molest a girl on Sunday evening. In his defense, Sukhdev Singh has alleged that he has been framed by some local politicians, who wanted to pressurize him to withdraw nomination from the forthcoming SGPC elections. He has also accused the police of working with his opponents.

Such allegations have never been levied upon me. I was showing the girl the house she was interested in. When I reached the house, the girl even did not go inside and raised an alarm. Some persons, who were already waiting near the main gate of the house, immediately came there and tried to beat me up," Sukhdev said over phone from an disclosed location.
When asked about those behind the registration of case, he said: "At this juncture I can not disclose their names as I do not have any proof. I have a good base in Sanaur and hope to get good response for the SGPC elections, my opponents have planned this whole thing. I have been getting threats while a false application against me is also pending in Patiala DC office," Sukhdev alleged.
As per the FIR registered on the complaint of Narinder Kaur, it has been alleged that Sukhdev tried to molest her on the pretext of showing her the house while her another friend Harpreet Kaur was checking another room. When tried to contact, Narinder Kaur she refused to speak to this reporter.
SHO Tripadi police station Bimal Kumar said the girls had re-confirmed their allegations on Monday and a case has been registered after thorough investigations.
"We received a call on Sunday evening and when we reached the spot, the neighbors said they had seen the girls coming out of the house crying," the SHO said.
