OROP, Balakot get Uttarakhand record 61,000 postal ballots

While some attributed the staggering rise in service votes to factors like the implementation of One Rank One Pension scheme and

air strikes, a few said it was the fact that this time Electronically Transmitted Ballot Paper was used and the ballots were not sent manually which may have added to the ease of voting among service voters.

According to EC records, the state has over 90,000 service voters. Tehri received highest number of votes from defence personnel (8,424), followed by

Nainital

(6,701).
