NEW DELHI: Terming the Hurriyat''s stand of not holding a dialogue with the Centre''s interlocutor N N Vohra as "unfortunate", National Conference on Thursday also regretted that their was no "serious move from the government to reach" out to the separatists groups in Jammu and Kashmir.
Reacting to the decision of the Hurriyat Conference of not holding talks with Vohra, party President Omar Abdullah said that the decision by separatists groups in the state had now raised several questions about the "meaningfulness" of the fresh initiative from the Centre to resolve the issue.

"The government by holding talks with MLAs and some individuals will make no difference as the separatists have to be brought to the dialgoue table," he added.
"Unfortunately, there was no move by the government in reaching out to the separatist groups in the state despite announcement by Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee that the envelope of Vohra will not be empty," Omar said.
Omar said that such actions of the government were sending conflicting signals among the people of the state.
He said his party was earlier blamed for sabotaging the peace process in the state. "I wonder who is to be blamed now as we no longer are in power," he said.
