SRINAGAR: Teams from the National Investigation Agency (
NIA) on Monday raided several locations in Kupwara and
Shopian districts of
Kashmir and arrested three over-ground workers (OGWs) of the Hizbul Mujahideen.
The raids were made after the arrest and interrogation of DSP Davinder Singh and three other Hizb terrorists on January 11, when Singh was helping the Hizb terrorists out of the Valley into Jammu.
The three arrested OGWs, are Riyaz Ahmad Thakur of Drabgah in Shopian, Fazanan Dobi, brother of active Hizb terrorist Omar Dobi of Pinzura in Shopian, and Asif Magray, brother of another Hizb terrorist at Ganowpora in Shopian, official sources said.
Two teams of NIA on Monday continued raids across Kashmir valley including several houses at Jagerpora village. Sources said the NIA recovered laptops, two mobile phones, two pen drives, and five passports from the house of one Javaid Ahmad Dar, a resident of Jagerpora in Kupwara.
The NIA team, however, failed to arrest BJP sarpanch, Tariq Mir of Maldarpora in Shopian, as he was already on the run, official sources said.
