MP asks Union health minister to outline govt's plan to tackle possible Covid third wave

D Ravikumar

moved a motion in the Lok Sabha to call the attention of the Union health and family welfare minister to make a statement in the house on December 8 on the “impending threat” of the third wave of Covid-19 infection and on the ministry's plans to handle the third wave that could hit the nation.

Ravikumar said he learnt that the third wave could hit the peak by February with cases crossing more than one lakh to 1.5 lakh a day in the country.

"IIT scientist Manindra Agarwal, who is involved in the mathematical projection of trajectory of Covid-19, also said measures like night curfew and restrictions on crowding can bring down the spread substantially. The
