Jaswant Singh continues to be on life support system at an army hospital, where he was admitted with head injuries early Friday morning.
The ministry of defence said on Saturday that Singh was “under constant monitoring by a team of neurosurgeons” and critical care specialists at Army Hospital (Research & Referral). “His vital parameters are stable but he continues to be in coma,” it said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Singh in the hospital and spent time with his doctors and family. Former prime minister Dr Manmohan Singh, too, paid a visit to Singh at the R&R hospital.
Visiting US defence secretary Chuck Hagel termed Singh as “one of India’s most distinguished solider-statesmen who helped transform US-India relations.”
