Mizoram CM hopes Myanmar border won't be sealed

AIZAWL: Mizoram CM Lalduhoma is optimistic about the Centre exempting the 404km-long international border that the state shares with Myanmar from being fenced even as it goes ahead with the plan along Manipur-Myanmar border.

An official statement said Lalduhoma met Union home minister Amit Shah in New Delhi on Saturday and discussed a wide range of issues which runs through four states - Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh. The statement added that there is high optimism that Mizoram-Myanmar border will not be fenced as far as the response of Shah is concerned. The two politicians also discussed the plight of the refugees from Myanmar and the internally displaced people from Manipur.
