NEW DELHI: Lok Sabha elections in Chhattisgarh would be conducted in 3 phases, the Election Commission of India announced on Saturday. First phase of polling would be held on April 19 on one seat, followed by April 26 on three seats and May 7 on seven seats.
Lok Sabha Elections 2024 will be held in 7 phases from 19th April and the counting of votes will be done on 4th June.

Lok Sabha Election Schedule
Chhattisgarh is one of the most diverse states in India. There are a total of 11 seats. The 11 Chhattisgarh seats are Janjgir-Champa, Korba, Raigarh, Surguja, Rajnandgaon, Mahasamund, Kanker, Durg, Raipur, Bilaspur and Bastar. In the previous election year, 2019, the BJP won nine seats, while the Congress registered victory on two seats.
Earlier, the BJP announced the candidates for all 11 seats. Surprisingly, In five of these six seats, a different candidate had contested in the last general elections.
After a few days of BJP announcing the names, Congress also released the list of only 6 candidates for Chhattisgarh, including two ex-ministers, and a sitting MP, apart from former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. Last year, Chhattisgarh also held a state election where BJP swept.
As per the Election Commission's website, the BJP won 54 seats, while the Congress won 35 seats. One seat was won by the Gondvana Gantantra Party (GGP).
