A junior doctor, whose name surfaced several times during the RG Kar protest called up a few faculty members of BMC and asked them to allow some students to carry mobile phones inside the examination hall and threatened them with transfers, when they declined to entertain his request, a faculty member of BMC said.

The MBBS final-year examination, conducted by the West Bengal University of Health Sciences, is scheduled for March 3 in all medical colleges. Sources in the health department said complaints of a few students using unfair means during examinations have emerged, especially from BMC and North Bengal Medical College.
