NEW DELHI: Union minister Ajay Mishra's son Ashish was sent to 3-day police custody today.
He was arrested on Saturday evening after nearly 11 hours of questioning by a Special Investigating Team of the UP Police probing the
Lakhimpur Kheri
violence, and sent to 14-day judicial remand. He was produced in a court late in the evening that sent him to 14-days of judicial remand.
Ashish has been accused of running a vehicle over a group of farmers in Lakhimpur Kheri who were protesting the new farm laws. Eight people were killed in the incident on Oct 3.

On his arrest, the police had said that Ashish was not cooperating and being evasive to some questions. Ashish on his part has said that he is innocent, was was some distance away from the site when the incident took place.
The eight people killed in the Lakhimpur violence include four farmers, 2 BJP workers and their driver and a local journalist.
