Buildings destroyed, bridges collapsed: Landslides in Kerala's Wayanad unleash nature's fury

Massive landslides struck various hilly areas near Meppadi in Kerala’s Wayanad district early on Tuesday, causing concerns that over hundreds may be trapped. The Prime Minister has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh from Prime Minister's National Relief Fund for the next of kin of each of the deceased. The injured would be given Rs 50,000. The PM also took to X (formerly twitter) to express his condolences to the people who lost their lives in the landslide, "Distressed by the landslides in parts of Wayanad.
