Jammu-Srinagar Vande Bharat crosses 1 lakh passenger mark in just 22 days
JAMMU: Jammu-Srinagar Vande Bharat Express, the first ever direct train flagged off between the two cities on May 2, achieved the unprecedented milestone of carrying 1.01 lakh passengers within just 22 days.
Northern Railway’s senior divisional commercial manager, Uchit Singhal, said, “We have received extremely positive feedback from passengers regarding the train’s comfort, safety and hospitality. This train has put an end to the traditional fatigue of the Jammu-Srinagar route.”
The train has operated with excellent punctuality and 100% reliability, said public relations inspector Raghvender Singh. “The travel between Jammu and Srinagar otherwise was dependent on national highway-44, which often faced disruptions due to landslides and inclement weather,” he added.
