India points to China wall on UNSC seat
Even though four out of the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council have bilaterally expressed “official affirmations” of support for India’s candidature for a permanent seat in the UNSC, India has been consistently taking up the issue of UNSC reforms with China, which is yet to announce support for New Delhi, the government told Parliament on Friday.
Junior minister (MEA) V Muraleedharan recalled that in February 2021, following India-China consultations on UNSC, Beijing had said China “supports UNSC reforms in a manner that increases the authority and efficacy of the UNSC, increases the representation and voice of developing countries, so that small- and medium-sized countries have a greater opportunity to participate in the decision-making of the UNSC”. China had then also said it should be done through the widest possible democratic consultation and should “seek a package solution that takes into account the interest and concerns of all parties”.

Chine will never agree to India taking a seat in UNSC. India should immediately ban all Chinese imports till such time that China softens it's stand. Banning imports or putting heavy duties will hurt India too but that is the price you have to pay.Read allPost comment
