As many as 117 (10%) candidates contesting upcoming Haryana assembly elections have criminal cases against them. That's an increase of 3 percentage points from 2014, according to an analysis of self-sworn affidavits of 1138 out of 1168 candidates by the Association of Democratic Reforms (ADR), an election-watch NGO. It also found that a whopping 481 (42%) candidates contesting elections are crorepatis.
