Speaking during the launch of the event, the minister said the initiative will be a fitting tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his 151st birth anniversary on Friday.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while launching the logo of 'Jal Jeevan Mission' (JJM) on September 29, called for ensuring drinking water supply in all schools and anganwadi centres in the country.
"In this backdrop, we are launching a 100-day campaign to ensure the same. We are asking all the state governments to ensure piped drinking water in all schools and anganwadi centres in next 100 days, Shekhawat said.

Great initiative. Fund RO equipment/ plants in every government school with capacity to provide 1 ltr per child. Also enter in to 5 year AMC for these RO plant/equipment. We need to think big to make a difference in a large country like India. This is the Infrastructure development India needs, much more important than just building expressways which caters only to the rich.Read allPost comment
