NEW DELHI: Nine months ago, a photo of former Delhi deputy chief minister
Manish Sisodia went
viral as hugged his ailing wife after a short meeting granted by the court.
The
farewell photo as Sisodia went back to jail gained a lot of sympathy. The Aam Aadmi Party also used it to attack the probing agencies and the Bharatiya Janata Party.
"This picture is very painful," Kejriwal had tweeted.
As Sisodia on Friday finally walked free after spending 17 months in jail, another photo came from his residence, him hugging his wife tightly as they both let out tears of joy.
Another photo showed him sitting with his wife on a sofa, one hand on her shoulder as they both posed for the cameras.
Sisodia, who got bail from Supreme Court in both CBI and ED cases, stepped out of Tihar jail in the evening and was welcomed by party leaders Atishi, Sanjay Singh and several supporters amid rain.
The next stop was chief minister Arvind Kejriwal's residence where he met jailed leader's wife Sunita. The party shared the video of as Sisodia was welcomed by the Sunita Kejriwal with a long hug and teary eyes.
Late at night, the former deputy CM finally reached his home to meet his family.
In June last year, Delhi HC had allowed Sisodia to meet his wife at his residence. However, he had to return disappointed after his wife had to be admitted to the emergency ward of Lok Nayak Hospital following deterioration in her health.
He was finally granted permission by a city court in November to meet his ailing wife Seema, who is suffering from multiple sclerosis.
