'Felt suffocated': Congress treasurer of Rajasthan joins BJP

JAIPUR: Rajasthan Congress treasurer Sitaram Agarwal joined BJP on Wednesday, calling it a ghar wapasi.

Agarwal accused Congress of not respecting its leaders. "I felt suffocated in Congress. Even my family was not happy. They wanted me to leave politics. But they relented when I told them that I will join BJP," said Agrawal.

He credited Rajasthan cabinet minister Diya Kumari for his joining BJP. Agarwal had unsuccessfully contested assembly poll against Diya.

BJP claimed that 306 congress workers, including many councillors, joined the party. But Congress candidate from Jaipur, Pratap Singh Khachariyawas, rejected the claim.
