Fake bank agents arrested

Three people, who posed as sales agents of ICICI Bank and duped a businessman of Rs 1.38 lakh, have been arrested by the Mahim police.

MUMBAI: Three people, including a woman, who posed as sales agents of ICICI Bank and duped a businessman of Rs 1.38 lakh under the pretext of upgrading his credit limit, have been arrested by the Mahim police.
The three have been identified as Manish Dubey (26), Saraswati Ramdas Somaiya (28) and Prakash Anand Waghmare (24). They have been remanded to police custody till October 21.
The modus operandi of the accused was to lure people by promising to upgrade their credit limit.

After "collecting credit cards" from them they used to withdraw cash from ATM. Later they used to return the cards to people on the pretext that the bank had rejected their pleas.
The police arrested the three following a complaint filed by Srinivas Thevar, a trader dealing in computer software.
