Congress alleges scam in OSM contract given for CBSE class 12 exam
NEW DELHI: Alleging massive manipulation in the results of the CBSE exams of class 12, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said the OSM contract given to “Globarena” was a “scam”. He said the company had a murky past and had changed its name from COEMPT after its similarly poor performance in Telangana in 2019 and 2023 had resulted in large number of student suicides. He said amid the trauma of lakhs of students and their families, PM Narendra Modi has as usual “no answers, no accountability, and no shame”.
Rahul demanded an independent judicial probe and special investigation team to unearth the truth behind the "entire scam”. He said, “This was all public information. It was known to everybody, and yet for some hidden reason, the CBSE chose the same company again. It took us 30 seconds to figure out that this company was earlier called something else. I am absolutely certain that the people in the CBSE and in the central govt were aware of this company's background.” He said the nature of relationship between the COEMPT and the Modi govt should be found out.
Continuing with the opposition protest over the NEET paper leak, Rahul met with the family of a NEET aspirant Pradeep Meghwal who committed suicide in Sikar in Rajasthan. The Congress leader visited the NSUI office in the Lutyen’s zone, where he, NSUI president Vinod Jakhar and AICC functionary Kanhaiya Kumar spoke with Pradeep’s family members. Posting the photographs on X, Rahul said “Pradeep's death was not suicide - it was the consequence of a broken, corrupt system.”
“Those who handed the examination system over to mafias, and who are still clinging to their chairs today - the Modi-Pradhan duo is accountable to this family,” he said.
