CandidatesThis year from the Mahasamund constituency, Roop Kumari Chaudhary (BJP) and Tamradhwaj Sahu (Congress) are contesting against each other. Gondwana Gantantra Party (GGP) also released its list and gave a ticket to Mohd Fareed Kureshi.
Lok Sabha 2019 election resultIn 2019, Mahasamund parliamentary constituency had total 1637951 electors. Total number of valid vote was 1222335. Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Chunni Lal Sahu won and became MP from this seat. He secured total 616580 votes. Indian National Congress candidate Dhanendra Sahu stood second with total 526069 votes. He lost by 90511 votes. Even, in 2014, Chandu Lal Sahu won the election and Congress strongman Ajit Jogi lost the Mahasamund seat by a mere 1,000 odd votes.
Voting date and resultThe Mahasamund Lok Sabha constituency is scheduled to vote on 26th April 2024, with the Election Commission announcing results on 4th June, as per their statement on March 16.
