DEHRADUN: B L Joshi, who was holding gubernatorial charge in Meghalaya, on Monday took over as the new Governor of Uttarakhand. He was administered oath of office by High Court Justice M M Ghildayal in a ceremony at Raj Bhavan here. Chief Minister B C Khanduri and other cabinet colleagues were also present on the occasion. Joshi replaced Sudarshan Agarwal, who was appointed as the Governor of Sikkim.
Joshi, a retired IPS officer of 1957 batch, is the third Governor of the new hill state after Surjit Singh Barnala and Agarwal.
