NEW DELHI:
Air India on Wednesday confirmed that two international flights bound for Amritsar are being diverted to Delhi due to disruptions in air traffic following India’s military action against terror camps in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), which is codenamed, 'Operation Sindoor'.
Budget carriers IndiGo and SpiceJet have also issued advisories warning of possible delays and cancellations for flights to and from Srinagar, Jammu, Amritsar, Leh, Chandigarh, Dharamshala, and Bikaner.
Sites targeted in Operation Sindoor
The disruption comes after the Indian armed forces launched 'Operation Sindoor' early Wednesday morning, a precision military operation targeting terror infrastructure in Pakistan and PoK.
The action is a direct response to the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, where 26 civilians were killed by Pakistan-backed-terrorists on April 22.
