AAP protests with empty cylinders at ITO: Delhi awaits free LPG cylinders before Holi

Aam Aadmi Party leaders on Thursday held a protest at ITO and put up a banner over BJP's free LPG cylinder promise. AAP workers protested against the BJP's unfulfilled promise of providing free LPG cylinders to women during Holi.

Continuing their opposition, AAP leaders displayed banners highlighting BJP’s failure to provide free LPG cylinders. The banners had slogans like "Aa gayi holi, kab milega free gas cylinder," translating to "Holi is here, when will we get free gas cylinder."

AAP leader Atishi criticized BJP and PM Modi for failing to provide Rs 2,500 monthly aid and free LPG cylinders to Delhi’s women. She highlighted ongoing protests by women with empty cylinders, calling BJP’s promise a "jumla."

The protest aimed to remind the government of its pre-election commitments and pressure them to fulfill their promises before Holi. In its manifesto, BJP had promised Rs 2,500 under Mahila Samriddhi Yojana, LPG cylinders at Rs 500 for low-income households, and one free cylinder on Holi and Diwali.

Leader of opposition Atishi also wrote to Delhi Assembly speaker Vijender Gupta, demanding fair speaking time for opposition MLAs. She claimed AAP MLAs received limited speaking time in the previous session and condemned their expulsion as unjust.

AAP accused the BJP of betraying Delhi’s women by not delivering on these pledges. However, on International Women’s Day, Delhi CM Rekha Gupta had assured that BJP-led government in Delhi would fulfill all promises.

Across Delhi, women staged protests with empty LPG cylinders, expressing frustration over BJP’s unfulfilled promises. AAP leaders backed their demand, questioning why the promised free cylinders had not been delivered even as Holi approached.
