In one of his videos, Andrew is seen saying, "Jabtak Samose mein aaloo, tab tak Bihar mein Lalu," translating to "As long as there is potato in my samosa, Lalu will rule Bihar". Andrew also proudly proclaims, "I may have an American passport, but my heart beats for Bihar."

For those who are unfamiliar, Andrew Hicks creates videos documenting his travels and culinary experiences in both India and the United States. He has gained popularity, in part, due to his fluent Hindi speaking abilities, albeit with an accent. Talking about how he learnt Hindi and Bhojpuri, Andrew said in an interview with Brut India that his father used to run an export business in India. It led them to relocate to Bihar due to his father's interest in Madhubani paintings.

He also expressed his deep affection for Indian cuisine, reminiscing about the delicious samosas he used to enjoy for just Rs 2 from street vendors. However, now when he visits America, he has to pay Rs 500 for the same samosa.

Andrews' ability to fluently speak Hindi and Bhojpuri has gained many people's attention on social media. One user remarked, "This dude is more Indian than most of our brothers and sisters." Another praised his response to an auto-rickshaw driver who attempted to overcharge him, assuming he didn't know Hindi because he was an American national.

In 2019, Andrew collaborated with Yachen Lee, a YouTuber who gained viral fame for his Korean appearance coupled with a Bihari Hindi accent. They create videos and share them on their respective YouTube channels. Andrew even started teaching his wife Hindi, and they documented their progress in several videos.
