Elon Musk launches new political party: 5 of his other ‘revolutionary’ launches

Elon Musk announced the creation of a new political party, the 'America Party', as a challenge to the long-held two-party system in the United States. The billionaire tech mogul made the declaration on his platform, X, following weeks of public sparring with former ally and US president Donald Trump.

While Musk cannot run for president himself due to his South African birth, his influence across technology, media, and finance gives this step some serious attention, even if the party has yet to be officially registered with election authorities.

The announcement follows a poll Musk posted asking if Americans wanted a new political party. Referencing this post’s results, he wrote, “By a factor of 2 to 1, you want a new political party—and you shall have it!” Frustrated with what he described as a “one-party system” dominated by waste and corruption, Musk said the America Party would aim to restore individual freedoms and fiscal responsibility, although no official heads or candidates have been named yet.

Historically, third-party efforts in the US have struggled to gain any attention in the past. Still, Musk’s reach across industries and his loyal following on X could give it a special platform for political disruption.

Apart from his new political party, here are some other ‘revolutionary’ launches by Musk.

2/6

Mars colonisation program

Elon Musk’s long-standing dream of colonising Mars is inching closer to reality. SpaceX is targeting 2026 for its first uncrewed Starship missions to the Red Planet. These initial flights will be directed to collect crucial data on atmospheric entry, descent, and landing conditions. They will lay the groundwork for future cargo and, eventually, crewed missions. A basis of this mission is developing in-situ resource utilisation, creating fuel directly from Martian elements. Musk sees a self-sustaining colony on Mars, and these test missions are the first true steps toward that goal.

3/6

Falcon 9- The reusable rocket

The Falcon 9 rocket completely changed the scope of the aerospace industry with its reusable design. Developed by SpaceX, it’s the world’s first orbital-class rocket capable of returning its first stage to Earth for reuse, either on drone ships at sea or on land-based pads. This innovation has drastically reduced the cost of space travel. Powered by Merlin engines using RP-1 and liquid oxygen, Falcon 9 now routinely launches satellites, resupplies the ISS, and supports NASA and private missions. It is also the backbone of Musk’s Mars ambitions.

4/6

Neuralink’s brain chip

Musk’s Neuralink aims to fuse the human brain with technology. The company’s first patient, Noland Arbaugh, has publicly shared how the implanted chip helps him communicate after paralysis. Neuralink’s goal is to treat neurological disorders and eventually enhance brain function. By enabling the direct link between the brain and digital devices, the technology could redefine accessibility and human-machine integration.

5/6

Tesla

Tesla has changed the arena of electric cars from niche experiments into mainstream vehicles. The company’s sleek lineup, including the Model 3, S, X, and Y, has not only boosted electric adoption but challenged traditional automakers to go green. Tesla’s innovations go beyond battery range and speed. Its Autopilot semi-autonomous system is a clear advancement toward driverless transport. Tesla’s success has proven that eco-friendly can be cool, fast, and functional, taking the modern automobile industry to new heights and setting new standards for what modern cars can do.

6/6

Starship

Starship is SpaceX’s biggest rocket yet, and it’s built to go far. Designed for deep space travel, it’s meant to carry people and cargo to Earth’s orbit, the Moon, Mars, and even beyond. When used in its expendable mode, it can carry up to 250 metric tonnes, making it the most powerful rocket ever built. Starship works with a giant booster called Super Heavy, and together, they’re central to Elon Musk’s dream of humans living on other planets. Test flights have already surprised people with their size and power, and if all goes well, Starship could one day be how we get to the Moon, or even start life on Mars.
