Educational qualification of Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh

Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, the controversial head of the Indian social group Dera Sacha Sauda (DSS), has a complex and disputed educational background. Reports vary, with some sources claiming he dropped out after completing the 10th grade, while others suggest he was expelled in the 9th grade. Born on August 15, 1967, in Sri Gurusar Modia, Rajasthan, his life took a significant turn when he joined DSS, a religious cult, as a teenager.

Ram Rahim’s early life in the village of Sri Gurusar Modia was marked by ordinary rural experiences. His formal education began at the local village school, where he reportedly showed more interest in spiritual matters than in academic pursuits. The ambiguity surrounding his school years is compounded by conflicting reports about his academic performance and behavior, leading to his eventual departure from formal schooling.

At a young age, Ram Rahim was influenced by the teachings of DSS, which his father, Maghar Singh, followed. The DSS, founded in 1948 by Baba Balochistani Beparwah Mastana Ji, attracted a diverse following, including backward classes and Dalit communities.
