Orangutans are highly intelligent primates that have the ability to use tools and solve difficult problems. They construct beautiful sleeping nests in trees using branches and leaves. Studies have shown that crows can plan for future needs, a cognitive skill that was once thought to be uniquely human. Their social structures are complex, and they can recognise individual humans and remember faces, which tells that they have advanced memory.

Octopuses

Octopuses are among the most intelligent invertebrates, and are popular for their problem-solving skills and ability to use tools. They can move across mazes, open jars, and escape from enclosures, putting forth advanced learning and memory. Their complex nervous system, with a large brain relative to body size, supports these sophisticated behaviors. Octopuses also show playfulness and curiosity, traits often associated with higher intelligence.

Elephants

Elephants have large, complex brains and show behaviors that are indicative of high intelligence. They show empathy, mourning rituals, and the ability to use tools. Elephants have been observed cooperating to do some tasks, such as lifting heavy objects together, and they can also recognize themselves in mirrors, which tells that they are self-aware. Their long-term memory is outstanding, and helps them to remember locations of water sources and migratory routes over many years.

7/8

Dolphins

Dolphins are well known for their high intelligence, and have traits such as cooperative hunting, complex communication, and problem-solving. They use a variety of voices and body movements to communicate with each other, and some species have been observed using tools.
