5 Indian cricketers who were honoured by the armed forces and given reverend Military Ranks

Cricket in India is not just a sport, it’s a passion that unites millions across the country. Over the decades, several Indian cricket legends have left an unforgettable mark on the game with their skills, discipline, and leadership. However, their influence has extended far beyond the cricket field. Many of these icons have inspired the nation through their patriotism and social contributions. Recognising their positive impact on society, the Indian Armed Forces have honoured some of these players with prestigious honorary military ranks.

These military ranks reflect the deep respect and admiration the armed forces and the nation have for these sporting heroes, not just for their on-field achievements, but also for the values they represent. These cricketers have shown that patriotism isn’t limited to a battlefield but have also actively promoted the spirit of service to support the military and its causes.

Here are some cricketing legends who have received Indian military titles.
