For those who don’t know, there’s a Hindi number called

Masakali

2.0, featuring

Siddharth Malhotra

and Tara Sutaria that seems to have made composer

AR Rahman

unhappy.

The Oscar-winning

music

maestro had composed the original version of Masakali for the film Delhi 6 and completely unlike his usually laidback persona, seems miffed about the remix. When the song, featuring Sonam Kapoor and Abhishek Bachchan released in 2009 it was a massive hit. The OK Bangaram composer even went as far as asking everyone to listen to the original version of the song instead.

Despite refraining from commenting on how he finds the remixed version, he did reveal that a lot of hard work went behind making Masakali an iconic number. He even shared a note that read, “No short cuts, properly commissioned, sleepless nights, writes and re-writes. Over 200 musicians, 365 days of creative brainstorming with the aim to produce music that can last generations. A team of a Director, a Composer and a Lyricist supported by actors, dance directors and a relentless film crew. - Lots of love and prayers A.R. Rahman.” (sic).
