After a remarkable launch at Cannes, Shruti Haasan starrer Tamil and Telugu bilingual 'Sangamithra', which will be helmed by Sundar C is now again in news for shocking reasons.
While we already know that Shruti has devoted much of her time for the past few months learning martial arts for 'Sangamithra', in an interesting twist of events, makers of the film announced that Shruti Haasan has been dropped out of it; at the same time, the PR team of the actress too, issued a statement as to why the actress has backed off from the period drama set up in the 8th century.
Recently at Cannes, the actress and the team, including the director, Arya and Hema Rukmini of Thenandal Films have unveiled the first look posters of it. The actress's official spokesperson said, " Shruti really wanted to be part of the project and had to unfortunately take a call not to be part of Sangamithra. Though she was ready to shoot for the historic film with substance, which is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, due to delay in schedules and incomplete script, the actress has decided to concentrate on her other commitments. She even hired combat experts to train for it. Despite all this, she has had to give the film a miss since she had not received a proper date calendar and bound script."
Like how once Aishwarya Rai was dropped from Madhur Bhandarkar's 'Heroine' after unveiling the film's poster and look, Shruti too, was dropped from the Rs 450 crore budgeted film by Sri Thenendal Films.
The movie features Arya and Jayam Ravi in other pivotal roles and is said to be released in two parts. Meanwhile, Shruti is busy promoting her upcoming Bollywood film 'Behen Hogi Teri' and is prepping up for 'Sabhash Naidu' besides involving in her music assignments.
Let us wait and see who will replace Shruti Haasan in the titular role.
