He is the nephew of Megastar Chiranjeevi and his father is a famous producer Allu Aravind. We are all familiar with Allu Ramlingaiah, who acted in almost 1000 films, is the grandfather of the actor. Sirish’s debut movie was ‘Gouravam’ and after that went on to deliver several hit films. He will next be seen in ‘ABCD- American Born Confused Desi’ and ‘Suriya 37’. On the occasion of his birthday, we revisit some of his best movies that are a must watch.

‘Gouravam’

‘Gouravam’, starring Allu Sirish and Yami Gautam in lead roles, was directed by Radha Mohan. The movie was a murder mystery. This was Allu Srirish’s debut venture as the protagonist. Before becoming the male lead, Sirish has starred as a child artist in films such as ‘Pratibandh’ and ‘Mayabazar’, both of which were a hit at the box-office. Veteran actor Prakash Raj has produced the film under the banner of Duet Movies. ‘Gouravam’ was critically acclaimed for its caste-related violence. However, the film was not commercially successful.

‘Kotha Janta’

The film was loved by the audience because of its comic content. The film was directed by young and talented director Maruthi Dasari. In the film, Allu Sirish’s performance was acclaimed by the audience. The actor also mesmerised the audience in the remake of ‘Atu Amalapuram’ song. Even though the movie received mixed reviews from the critics, it was reportedly a commercial hit.

‘Srirastu Subhamastu’

Allu Sirish shone as a young lover with a heart of gold in this 2016 Parasuram’s story. Even as a young star, Sirish was able to tap into the right emotion that a very few experienced actors can pull off. While the film focused on the journey of a medico played by Lavanya Tripathi, it was Allu Sirish’s performance that captured the audience’s hearts. The film also boasted of an ensemble star cast consisting of Prakash Raj, Rao Ramesh, Tanikella Bharani and Sumalatha.

‘Okka Kshanam’

Allu Sirish played an engineering graduate in this 2017 collaboration with director Vi Anand. Based on the parallel life concept, the story follows two people Jeeva and Joshna (played by Sirish and Surbhi) as they face several consequences in their love life, similar to that of their neighbour Srinivas and Swathi (Srinivas Avasarala and Seerat Kapoor)’s life and eventually in search of solution for their problem, they get separated and estranged. Allu Sirish has delivered a powerful performance as a sincere and gusty lover on an unintentional journey of love.

‘1971: Beyond Borders’

Allu Sirish was seen as a brave soldier for the first time in the Major Ravi directorial. Set in the backdrop of Indo-Pakistani War of 1971, this is the fourth instalment of the Major Mahadevan film series and Sirish has shared screen space with Malayalam superstar Mohanlal in the movie. The film marked Sirish’s debut venture in Malayalam.
