Vijay Deverakonda addressing his political stance: The benevolent and fun dictator is here

Actor Vijay Deverakonda found himself in a bit of social media controversy recently when news went viral that his political ideologies side with supporting ‘benevolent dictatorship’ and not democracy.

He responded to all the jibes and trolls with a video on Saturday after a lot of people called out his statement as naïve and reckless. In an interview clip that was released recently, Vijay Deverakonda responded when asked if he would ever stand for elections, “Our political system is not making any sense. I don’t think everybody should be allowed to vote. People vote for liquor and cash and it quashes the whole purpose of democracy. I do not want to stand in such an election. The educated layer of society must be given a chance to vote.”

He added, “I’d rather believe in dictatorship as that is the way to bring about some change for people who don’t know what is good for them. But we need to have a dictator with good intentions.” Vijay was trolled big time on social media for his statement and he has now responded with a video. In the video Vijay is seen throwing an axe at a bulls eye. After he nails his shot, this text comes up on the video – The benevolent, fun dictator - suggesting that Vijay’s controversial statement is meant to be taken in a lighter vein.


While the actor is currently vacationing in Europe, he will join the shoot for his upcoming film Fighter with Puri Jagannadh in November.
