Varalaxmi Sarathkumar's opinion on having kids only after financial stability; Netizens REACT
During a recent chat, actress Varalaxmi Sarathkumar passionately discussed the need for financial preparedness before embarking on the journey of parenthood. She controversially stated that children should only be brought into the world when the necessary resources are available to support them.
Actor Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, who recently marked her directorial debut with crime thriller ‘S Saraswathi’, recently shared her strong opinion about having children. While speaking in an interview, the actress shared that people should have kids only if they can afford to raise them.

Criticises lack of planning among parents

In a conversation with Prema, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar criticised those who have kids despite having financial difficulties due to a lack of planning. “We are in a country where nobody wants to talk about sex, we are number one in population. So, clearly they’re having it, but they don’t want to talk about it. I find that extremely funny. Everybody keeps popping out kids like they’re a factory. And then they’ll say, oh, we’re facing difficulties. Who asked you to have kids then? Don’t have a child and then plan,” she said.Later in the same conversation, Varalaxmi explained that she is not against having children. She said the cost of living is high and raising a child needs money and planning. She said, “The economy has changed; it’s expensive to have children. I am not against having children. People come to ask me for help with their children. Did I give birth to them? Why am I helping you after you’ve made a mistake? Take care of your own damn child.”
She also added that she always tells people around her to have children only after they are financially ready.“I’ve told people around me to get married and have kids when you have the financial stability to take care of another person,” she said.

Internet reacts with mixed opinions

Actor Priyamani was also part of the interview and agreed with Varalaxmi. When the video started going viral on social media, some fans also supported Varalaxmi’s views, however, many people did not agree with Varalaxmi’s words. Some said every person’s life is different and raising children is not the same for everyone.Actress Lakshmi Manchu also reacted to her viewers with clapping emojis.
