​'Vaaranam Aayiram'


In 2008, Gautham Vasudev Menon collaborated with Suriya in ‘Vaaranam Aayiram’. The film featured Suriya in a dual role along with Sameera Reddy, Simran, and Divya Spandana. The film talks about Suriya, an Indian Army Major who came to know about his father Krishnan's death when he is on a mission. He started thinking and recollecting his memories. The storyline is inspired by GVM’s life and is a tribute to his father who died back in 2007.

​‘Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa’

‘Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa’ starring Silambarasan and Trisha is a 2010 romantic drama by Gautham Vasudev Menon. The film was about a complicated love relationship between a Hindu Tamil boy and a Christian Malayali girl. It later got a remake in Telugu as ‘Ye Maaya Chesave’, starring Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu in lead roles.

​‘Neethaane En Ponvasantham’

In 2012 ‘Neethaane En Ponvasantham’ featured Jiiva and Samantha Ruth Prabhu as a mesmerizing couple. It portrays the love life of Varun and Nithya played by Jiiva and Samantha through three stages; school days, college days, and then in their late twenties. This film was also shot in Telugu as ‘Yeto Vellipoyindhi Manasu’ starring Nani and Samantha.

​‘Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada’

‘Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada’ is a 2016 romantic action thriller film by Gautham Vasudev Menon. The film features Silambarasan and Manjima Mohan. Manjima made her Tamil debut with this film. The movie is about a young person who goes on a trip with his girlfriend. During the trip, he has a car crash, and everything goes wrong after that.

​‘Guitar Kambi Mele Nindru’ (Navarasa)

In an anthology film ‘Navarasa’, GVM directed an episode ‘Guitar Kambi Mele Nindru’. It featured Suriya and Prayaga Martin in leading roles. The movie explores a unique love story between a singer and a musician. It contains nine episodes about nine different emotions.
