Teja has a reputation for being a taskmaster, but this time, he is taking it to a whole new level. For his next film, featuring a bunch of newcomers, the director has decided to head to Agumbe in Karnataka to shoot for nearly a month. And guess what? The entire region is infested with deadly King Cobras.
"The entire hill terrain is infested with so many cobras that there is a research institute dedicated to study their life cycles, says Teja, who has just returned after finalising the locales for the shoot which will begin in March.
So, why is he taking such a big risk? This dense rain forest region is perfect for the script I have written. Most of the scenes in the film have to be shot in rains and this region is well suited as it receives rainfall for about 22 days in a month, he says. And it turns out that Teja has insisted on carrying along vaccines, to cure snake bites, apart from other equipment required for the shoot. Its a risky business, but we will take all the required precautions and safety measures, he adds.
