HYDERABAD: Task Force sleuths arrested a history-sheeter-turned-film producer and seized two country-made 9 mm pistols and 16 live rounds from his house at Jubilee Hills on Thursday. He reportedly used to threaten people with the firearms and settle scores with others.
The Task Force sleuths said Rajesh Putra, who produced movies like Nawab Basha and Dawood, had bought four weapons illegally from Navadha in Bihar in 2010.
He bought the weapons from one Ranjeeth.
He was involved in several cases of murder, possession of illegal firearms, bodily offences and outraging modesty. Rajesh Putra, who is a native of West Godavari district in Andhra Pradesh and has a history-sheet against him there, moved to Hyderabad a few years ago and started working in the film industry.
