Mahesh Babu’s 25th film launched on Kriahnashtami

The landmark 25th film of Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu, to be directed by Vamshi Paidipally, was launched on Monday, August 14, on the auspicious day of

Kriahnashtami

. Mahesh, who is currently shooting for ‘

Bharath Ane Nenu

’ in Lucknow, couldn’t show up for the inaugural ceremony, though his wife Namrata and children Gautham and Sitara attended the launch.



The project, tentatively titled

Mahesh 25

, will mark the superstar’s first time collaboration with director Vamshi. The film will be bankrolled by Dil Raju and

Aswini Dutt

. If rumours are to be believed, Pooja Hegde is being considered to play the female lead opposite Mahesh Babu.

The makers of the film took to Twitter and wrote, “The beginning of a memorable journey. We will be producing #Mahesh25 along with @VyjayanthiFilms. #Mahesh25Begins (sic).” They also tweeted, “A super talented team of @thisisdsp #PSVinodh and other technicians come together to make #Mahesh25 a memorable experience (sic).”

Devi Sri Prasad has been roped in compose music, while

PS Vinod

will crank the camera. The movie will go on floors from January next year, and may hit the screens on Dussehra next year.
