Is Allu Arjun and Atlee’s superhero film set for a Pongal 2027 release? here’s what we know

Tollywood actor Allu Arjun is reportedly all set to collaborate with director Atlee for a big-budget action entertainer that’s rumoured to explore the superhero genre. The movie is generating immense buzz among fans and audiences, as it marks the first collaboration between Allu and Atlee.

According to a recent report from Telugu Chitraalu, the film is targeting a festive release during Pongal 2027. Filming is expected to commence in December 2025, followed by an extensive post-production timeline, primarily focused on high-end CGI and VFX enhancements. The post-production phase alone is expected to span nearly a year to ensure a world-class output.




Allu is said to be undergoing intense physical conditioning under the guidance of celebrity fitness coach Lloyd Stevens. Pre-production activities are in full swing and are expected to continue over the next six months.

While neither the actor nor the production team has issued an official announcement regarding the film’s timeline or concept, Allu Arjun offered a few insights into the collaboration during his recent interaction at the WAVES Summit 2025. The 'Pushpa' actor praised Atlee’s innovative approach to storytelling and expressed that their shared vision was one of the main reasons he came on board.

"I loved the concept he narrated, and I admire his ambition. We connected creatively on multiple levels. What we’re trying to create is a grand cinematic experience that remains deeply rooted in Indian emotion but is packaged with an international appeal.”

Recently, Allu made a rare appearance at a wedding with his wife Sneha Reddy, and the actor looked completely different from his raw avatar in 'Pushpa 2: The Rule'.

On the work front, Allu is enjoying the worldwide success of 'Pushpa 2', directed by Sukumar. He is also expected to collaborate with Trivikram Srinivas for a mythological drama.
