Turning all the on-going speculations true, versatile filmmaker
Gunasekhar has officially confirmed his next project ‘
Hiranyakashyapa
’ with
Rana Daggubati. This morning, the 54-year-old director released a press note on social media which updates about the status of this mega-budget project. While is no information about the rest of the cast and crew, Gunasekhar promised to reveal the details pretty soon.
The note by the veteran director read, “Would like to share that I’m working on a
mythological
film Hiranyakashyapa starring Rana Daggubati in the lead role.”
Updating about the film’s status, he mentioned “Extensive preproduction work is being done for the past 3 years for this one...that’s right 3 YEARS! That’s how invigorating this has been. More details & updates will follow soon.”
According to sources, the mythological project will be helmed on a massive budget and would involve top-notch visual effects. Besides the handsome hunk of Tollywood, the multi-lingual flick might feature several pan-Indian actors & technicians.
Meanwhile, Gunasekhar’s last outing was ‘
Rudhramadevi
’ in 2015. The 3D period-action film was based on the life of warrior queen Rudrama Devi, one of the prominent rulers of the
Kakatiya dynasty
. It received a lukewarm response at the box-office.
