The most prominent faces in Tollywood who have tested positive for the coronavirus


The coronavirus case count in India has crossed the 1 core mark. The virus has also claimed more than 149,018 lives. The dangerous virus is also causing a stir in the movie industry. Since early 2020, many of the biggest names in Tollywood have contracted the virus. Here are all of the most prominent faces in Tollywood who have announced that they tested positive for the coronavirus.

SS Rajamouli

Maverick director SS Rajamouli has revealed he and his family underwent coronavirus test and that the results have shown a mild COVID positive. The acclaimed director has revealed that he and his family members developed a slight fever, which subsided by itself. The 'RRR' director and his family were under home quarantine and are following it strictly.

​Ram Charan

Mega Power star Ram Charan has tested positive for COVID-19. The 35-year-old actor advised those who had been around with him in the last couple of days to get themselves tested. He also said he had no symptoms and had quarantined himself at home. Some time back Ram Charan’s father Chiranjeevi too had announced that he had tested positive but in a couple of days clarified that he had got a false positive report.

​Varun Tej Konidela

Actor Varun Tej has revealed that he has tested positive for COVID-19. Sharing that he is asymptomatic, the 30-year-old mentioned that he is currently under home quarantine and taking the necessary precautions to combat the pandemic. Varun Tej wrote in a statement, “Earlier today, I tested positive for COVID 19 with mild symptoms. I am currently quarantined at home taking the necessary precautions. I’ll be back soon. Thank you for all your love.”

​Tamannaah Bhatia

Actress Tamannaah Bhatia has been tested positive for COVID-19. When she was in Hyderabad for a web series, she showed symptoms of the novel coronavirus she was rushed to a private hospital in Hyderabad for further treatment. Incidentally, in August her parents also tested COVID-19 positive but that time her report came out as negative.

​Dr Rajasekhar & family

Actor Dr Rajasekhar revealed on social media that he and his family have tested positive for Covid-19. Rajasekhar, his wife Jeevitha and children, actresses Shivathmika Rajasekhar and Shivani Rajasekhar have tested positive for the virus. The actor and his wife have been admitted at a private hospital in Hyderabad for treatment and he announced that his children are ‘out of it’.

​SP Balasubrahmanyam

Legendary singer SP Balasubrahmanyam has been tested positive for COVID-19. He has released a video confirming the report and asked people to call him to inquire about his health. He was in little discomfort with cold, on and off fever and chest congestion. So, the veteran singer doesn't want to take it lightly and moved to the hospital. Unfortunately, he died on September 25 at the age of 74 complications from the coronavirus.

RRR producer DVV Danayya has tested positive for COVID-19. The famous filmmaker is one among the several celebrities from Telugu cinema who have tested positive for coronavirus. The creator of DVV Entertainment has isolated himself at his residence in Hyderabad. He got himself tested after suffering from mild fever for a few days.

Mega brother Naga Babu has tested positive for Covid-19. The actor-cum-television-personality confirmed the same on social media. Sharing a note that he has indeed tested positive for coronavirus, but that he will fight through this, he wrote, “An Infection doesn't always has to be a suffering, You can always transform it into an opportunity to help the fellow Beings".

​Bandla Ganesh

Actor-cum-producer Bandla Ganesh has tested positive for coronavirus. The actor has been under self-quarantine for over seven days after he found that he has got infected. The 42-year-old actor has been tested positive for COVID-19. Sources further said that he found out about it when he visited a hair clinic for his hair plantation and had to undergo a few tests, as per government guidelines.

Smita

Indian pop sensation Smita along with husband Shashank have reportedly tested positive for coronavirus. She took to her Twitter handle a while ago to confirm the same. In the tweet, she revealed that body pains prompted her to take the test. She added that they are asymptomatic now and are waiting to recover and donate plasma.
