Tollywood stars who have succeeded in expanding their appeal in Bollywood

Who doesn’t want to be starred in a Bollywood film? This is what every South Indian actor wants. The door of opportunity is not open for everyone. They just get tired out by knocking, and then they leave. But some actors have all the luck, and they consistently encounter such opportunities in Hindi. Some of our Telugu actors have become successful in Hindi. On that note, let's have a look at these Tollywood stars who have succeeded in expanding their appeal in Bollywood.

Prabhas

It is a known fact that 'Baahubali' smashed box office records in Bollywood, and Prabhas has a huge fan following amongst the Hindi audience. His later film 'Saaho' also made waves in Hindi, but 'Baahubali' witnessed unprecedented success with collections over Rs. 1,683 billion. Since then, his films have been dubbed into the Hindi language and have created records. After winning hearts with his pan-India films 'Baahubali' and 'Saaho,' Prabhas is all set to amaze fans with four big upcoming releases - 'Radhe Shyam,' 'Adipurush,' 'Salaar' and 'Project K.'

Allu Arjun

Bollywood has been showing its love for South Indian movies since the 90s. Many Telugu films have been released in B-Town theatres, and the recent outing 'Pushpa: The Rise' declared a box office hit. The film’s lead actor Allu Arjun has become the most popular star in Bollywood now. He danced his way into the hearts of the Bollywood film buffs with 'Pushpa: The Rise.' It also paved the way for other South Telugu movies.

Ram Charan

Ram Charan enjoys a wide fanbase not only in the Telugu states where Telugu dubbed films have often been released but also in Hindi. In fact, he starred in the 2013 Bollywood film 'Thoofan,' which was not lived up to the mark. However, his fanbase has grown. Charan has won audiences with many of his critically and commercially acclaimed films. One of the biggest crowd-pullers, he will be next seen in the highly anticipated RRR, which is being helmed by the blockbuster director SS Rajamouli.

Jr NTR

Jr NTR is an actor who didn't have to venture into Hindi cinema to gain pan-India popularity. However, the Tollywood actor enjoyed a fanbase in the state even before he stepped into the Hindi film industry, and his Telugu dubbing films are in fact more popular with the Hindi audience. Hailed as one of the most talented and good looking young actors in Telugu cinema, Jr NTR is also set to star in his first pan-India film 'RRR,' after delivering hits like 'Aravinda Sametha Veera Raghava' and 'Jai Lava Kusa.' Even Deepika Padukone mentioned that he would like to work with Jr NTR during an interview.

Mahesh Babu

Though the actor did not star in a Bollywood film so far, Mahesh Babu is quite popular with the audience in Hindi. His powerful acting endeared him to audiences in the state, and he went on to increase his fanbase outside Telugu states. One of the most good-looking South actors, Mahesh Babu will be next seen in Parasuram Petla’s 'Sarkaru Vaati Paata.'
